So this blog is going in the Songwriting category but it could just as well have belonged in the recording, performing or musical discussion categories.

Tonight, Gary and I met up at North Side Noise studios to discuss music. Specifically, music we have made and intend to make.

We discussed what we've accomplished since meeting at the Highland Park Guitar Center in 2002, the big plans we made then and how the results have been pleasantly surprising.

Mostly, we listened to old songs we'd recorded and reminisced about the circumstances of each session. We talked about all the mistakes we made in tracking and mixing but we also were happy to hear that some of those old tracks have truly stood the test of (a small amount of) time. I personally was thrilled to hear myself ripping up an old original song, "Full Blast" with my best Lynrd Skynrd impersonation.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that I'm once again excited about being creative musically again. This year's christmas song (an ACDC homage called 'Gimme Coal') has inspired us to use the skills we've worked so hard to develop and the motivation to create something music that will make us proud.

I had a revelation in the first week of 2010. Superbullet makes some damn fine music, but it could be even better. Add a comment
